I have been doing Women’s Health since 1978 and became a Certified Nurse-Midwife in 1983 from University of Mississippi Medical Center. I have extensive patient care experience in all phases of a women’s reproductive cycle, including over 2000 deliveries, prenatal and postpartum care, family planning and well-infant care in Pennsylvania, Florida, Texas and Mississippi. I have established a hospital-based Nurse-Midwifery service and Free Standing Birthing Center. I retired from the Mississippi State Department of Health after 20 years in 2018. I am currently working part-time with MSDH as a Clinical Consultant.

Desiree Norwood, resides in Sunflower, MS. She Currently serves as the Project Coordinator for Plan A Health. Desiree is a graduate of Ruleville Central High School, 2008 graduate of Mississippi Valley State University, where she received her B.S.in Business Administration and 2009 graduate Delta State University where she received her MBA. 

Norwood brings a wealth of experience from her previous work at the Mississippi DEpartment of Health, the board of Mississippi Delta Community College, and the Sunflower COunty Board of Supervisors.  “Service over Self” in her free time, she loves to volunteer with school and community activities throughout the Delta area. She also enjoys serving as a liaison, where she connects individuals in the community to resources available. Desiree is the proud parent of Jaylon, 17 and Kaitlyn,14. Desiree motto is: “Every day I wake up, is a day to make a difference; A Day to make a positive impact; a day to help someone reach their full potential.

Andrea Collins MD's formative years were spent in South Mississippi, mostly in Tylertown and Liberty, Mississippi. She graduated from the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science in Columbus, Mississippi and went on to Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Andrea Collins graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical engineering with a mathematics minor from Johns Hopkins. She completed her medical degree at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and also completed her family medicine residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Her career has mostly been spent working in rural Mississippi including West Point, Starkville, Natchez, Meridian, Brookhaven, Meadville, Tylertown, Hazlehurst, and Greenville. She was the Medical Director of East Mississippi State Hospital Nursing Homes in Meridian, MS. Dr. Collins is currently the Associate Program Director of the MSMERC MS Delta Family Medicine Residency Program. Her current job duties include being a liaison between the program's affiliated hospitals and physicians, program coordination, and training young family medicine physicians. Dr. Collins opted to join Plan A because it aligns with her main mission to give back to the community.

Maximillian McKinney is native of Jackson, MS he previously served as the Corporate Compliance Officer and Interim-Chief Financial Officer at a Federally Qualified Health Center in Mississippi. A graduate of Alcorn State University (Business Administration) and Jackson State University (Master of Business Administration and Master of Professional Accountancy). Max has previous experience in consumer banking, having previously had roles a retail banker and branch manager. Erin comes to Plan A with over 15 years' experience working for nonprofits and research organizations on programs centered on maternal and reproductive health. With a passion for health equity and access to care, Erin loves using data and research to demonstrate the effects policy and programs have on people's lives. A native of Georgia, Erin graduated with a degree in History from the University of Georgia and received a Master of Public Health in Maternal and Child Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. After living in Mobile, Alabama for 13 years, she recently moved to Delaware with her family. In her free time, Erin is a voracious reader and enjoys hiking and spending time with her family.

Caroline Weinberg, MD, MPH is the founder and Executive Director of Plan A. Her work in reproductive health began as a Peer Health Educator at the University of Virginia and since that time she has continued to work to improve access to reproductive health care and education with a particular focus on adolescents and care in low-resource settings. Her prior work has included reproductive health program development and evaluation both in the United States and internationally in Uganda and Guatemala. She is an advocate for access to health care as a fundamental human right and passionate about creating programs that ensure access for people in all communities.

Brooke Winstead is a licensed Pharmacist with over seven years of experience in retail pharmacy. She is a native of Philadelphia, MS. She received her Bachelor’s of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Mississippi. She is continuing her education at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine with plans to return home as an Internal Medicine physician. She has a passion for rural medicine, particularly underserved areas of Mississippi. Growing up in rural Mississippi, she experienced the gaps in healthcare firsthand. She has made it her mission to address healthcare disparities in Mississippi and offer access to unparalleled healthcare to all.

Gretchen Borchelt is Vice President for Reproductive Rights and Health at the National Women’s Law Center. She oversees NWLC’s advocacy, policy, litigation, and education strategies to promote reproductive rights and access to comprehensive, affordable health care. Previously, she served as Senior Counsel and Director of State Reproductive Health Policy. Before joining NWLC, she worked at Physicians for Human Rights and was a Women’s Law and Public Policy Fellow at the National Partnership for Women and Families. She serves on the Steering Committee of the Women’s Preventive Services Initiative; the Advisory Board of If/When/How: Lawyering for Reproductive Justice; the Advisory Committee of COMS Project; the Reproductive Health and Access Advisory Group of Urban Institute; and the Advocates Advisory Board of State Innovation Exchange’s Reproductive Freedom Leadership Council.

Dr. Pamela Payne Foster, MD, is a Preventive Medicine/Public Health Physician who is Professor in the Department of Community Medicine/Population Health and Deputy Director, Institute for Rural Health Research, at The University of Alabama School of Medicin. Her career has focused on a wide variety of interests including racial/ethnic health disparities, bioethics with an interest on the intersection between social justice and health, and community based participatory or engaged research.   Most recently through her work in Alabama, she has more specifically focused on HIV/AIDS related stigma in rural faith based settings in the Deep South.

Jackie Sanders-Hawkins is the CEO and Founder of Delta Community Solutions, LLC. She  recently retired from the Mississippi State Department of Health with 32 years of state services and over two decades of advocating for a better community utilizing public health strategies and interventions. Ms. Hawkins was the Community Bureau Director of Mississippi Delta Health Collaborative. Her work included developing and implementing policy systems and environmental changes in settings such as faith-based organizations, barbershops, beauty shops, health care systems, and county and local municipalities. Ms. Hawkins is a two time recipient of the Rural Health Champion Award. She’s married to Dewayne Hawkins and they have two children, Darrius and Kaithlyn.

Before Glossier, Melanie worked at L'Oreal USA, where she led merchandising, retail, launch and growth strategies. Ahead of her pivot into marketing, Melanie was a management consultant at PwC, specializing in solutions to build efficiency within the corporate finance functions. Melanie obtained her MBA from the University of Michigan and her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Hampton University. Although a Chicago native, Melanie's family is from Mound Bayou, Mississippi. Her lifelong connection to the Delta fuels her passion to support the mission of Plan A. As a board member, she's committed to leveraging her personal and professional experience to drive relevant marketing strategies that build greater awareness, patronage and trust of Plan A.

Diana Y Salas serves as the Senior Director of Community Engagement Programs at the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health. Born in Ecuador and raised in NYC, she has nearly 20 years of experience as an organizer, advocate,  and researcher . Diana works to be in service of movements that center strong grassroots leadership of women of color, particularly immigrants and Latinas. As the former Associate Director of the Women of Color Policy Network at New York University (NYU), she learned the importance of research for action, employing participatory models in design and implementation of research projects. Diana is currently writing her dissertation and holds a Master in Science in Public Policy from the McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies at University of Massachusetts Boston.

He has served on the boards of many public and private companies which include Hudson General Inc., Air Express Int., and Penn Traffic, Schoolnet, Civitas, Wireless Generation, Smarterer and Flocabulary. Currently, Mr. Segal sits on the boards of various education technology companies. Mollie Williams is the Executive Director of The Family Van and a Lecturer in Global Health and Social Medicine at the Harvard Medical School. She is a passionate advocate for access to health and health care. She has experience in nonprofit and public health leadership, organizational development, strategic planning, and fundraising. Prior to joining The Family Van, Mollie was a Senior Director at Planned Parenthood Federation of America. In this role, she led a national cross-department team and affiliate staff who worked to improve access to sexual and reproductive health care in the southern United States. Mollie holds an MPH from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and a DrPH in Health Policy and Management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Carrie Denning Jackson creates built environments that are designed for people and grounded in place. In 2016, Carrie joined Google's urban innovation company, Sidewalk Labs, where she leads innovation on ground floor spaces, re-imagining the physical/digital experience of retail as well as the community and cultural spaces and small businesses that make cities great. Carrie was Sidewalk’s Chief of Staff for two years, growing the company from 14 to 100+ urban-technologists and launching their workshop/lab in Toronto, 307, where she ran all public programming. Prior to Sidewalk Labs, she led on-the-ground placemaking for Shared_Studios, an art organization that creates curated experiences between strangers in "portals" (golden shipping containers) in cities across the world. Jackson launched the San Francisco Portal and programmed live experiences between cities, in addition to installations at the UN and Art Basel Miami. Carrie has an MBA, MA, and BA from Stanford University.
